 I  smell the black pepper right away and it is the player who dominates until the end. Not alone but in the company of lavandin, really noticeable and at the same intensity level, which unfolds its powerful soapy character, quite smooth, wet, reminding me of a bathroom full of steam after a hot shower. In this composition, lavandin lacks its sweaty facet which one can observe in the inflorescence crushed between the fingers.

A citrussy note, bitter, slightly lemony, with that tinge of rawness specific to bergamot, also participates to the general aroma. It even goes in the territory of fresh leaves akin to mint (but not mentholated), a tad pungent.

L'Occitan smells aromatic, bright, crisp and cold, similar to damp, freshly washed laundry which is about to be hanged on the clothes line.

In the light of the aforementioned notes, the fragrance seems to resemble Pegaso by Etro, however, the olfactory disparities are evident: the former is like a white, solid soap, dressed in black pepper and lavandin from head to toe, while the latter takes the direction of a translucid, solid soap, vegetal, citrusy, vaguely woody.

L'Occitan has sweetness. Even if I tested it before I bought it, those tonka beans were still worrying me that the perfume will be too sweet once I will wear it with regularity. Nonetheless, it turned out fine and the scent remains masculine, getting warmer as it evolves, and acquiring a slightly powdery and metallic feeling  along the way.

The intensity falls short and it needs to be sprayed with a heavy hand for an acceptable outcome. Even so, I embrace it because I thoroughly enjoy it. And the quality of the ingredients employed by L'Occitane en Provence is undisputed as always, the fragrance smelling very natural.

 Simt piperul negru imediat și el este jucătorul care domină până la sfârșit. Dar nu singur, ci împreună cu lavanda, foarte evidentă și la același nivel de intensitate, care își imprimă caracterul săpunos, puternic, foarte neted, umed, amintindu-mi de o cameră de baie plină de aburi după un duș fierbinte. În această compoziție, ea este lipsită de fațeta asudată ce poate fi întâlnită la inflorescența strivită între degete.

O notă citrică, amară, vag lămâioasă, cu acea tentă de crud specific portocalei-bergamotă, participă și ea la aroma generală. Se duce chiar în teritoriul frunzelor proaspete, de plantă în genul mentei (dar nu mentolată), ușor înțepătoare.

L'Occitan miroase aromat, senin, proaspăt și rece ca rufele umede, abia spălate, ce urmează să fie agățate pe culme.

Prin prisma notelor înșiruite mai sus, parfumul pare a semăna cu Pegaso de Etro, însă diferențele olfactive sunt vizibile: primul este ca un săpun solid, alb, cu piper și lavandă din cap până în picioare, în timp ce al doilea se duce în direcția unui săpun solid, translucid, vegetal, citric, lemnos vag.

L'Occitan este dulceag. Chiar dacă l-am testat înainte de a-l cumpăra, tot nu am văzut cu ochi buni boabele tonka: m-am temut să nu devină prea dulce de îndată ce îl voi purta regulat. Însă dozajul este fix cât trebuie, iar parfumul rămâne masculin, încălzindu-se între timp și căpătând o ușoară senzație pudrată și metalică pe parcurs.

Intensitatea lasă de dorit și trebuie pulverizat în cantitate mare pentru un rezultat satisfăcător. Dar îl accept așa căci îmi place enorm de mult. Iar calitatea ingredientelor folosite de L'Occitane en Provence este de necontestat ca întotdeauna, parfumul mirosind foarte natural.
