 When I got this perfume, I sprayed it on the sweater that I was wearing that day. I was greeted with an aroma verging on burnt rubber or tar, with the associated smokiness, but without any acrid nuances. It smelled very powerful for a long time and I considered it a little too much to handle. However, it was better than what I experienced with Tonnerre by Beaufort London. 

Other equally noticeable elements rose to my nose at the same time:

- An industrial bitterness.

- A welcome sweetness (neither sugary nor vanillic, maybe a tad fruity like berries) that calmed down the slight harshness of the fragrance. Oud remained masculine nonetheless.

- A woodiness (not spiky by the way) that seemed like coming from freshly chopped wood logs.

- Moldy and earthy facets that brought texture apart from their very interesting odour profile, befitting this composition. The mold facet is exactly as the one in Eau d'Iparie by L'Occitane en Provence.

Therefore I find it hard to apply Oud directly on my clothes because of that unnatural industrial note that stays too close to my nose. So I spray the fragrance in the air in front of me, and then I immediately walk into the mist. A perfect result.

When it comes to the weather, only very cold temperatures do the scent justice. The tar element recedes and makes the patchouli more present, still moldy and earthy, while the woodiness acquires a little dryness, being enveloped in a toned-down sweetness devoid of what felt like a fruity smell before, now showing a warm, rounded, ambery effect.

Oud is 100% mature and elegant, and more wearable in this situation. A big yes from me.

 Când am cumpărat acest parfum, l-am pulverizat pe pulovărul pe care îl purtam în acea zi. Aroma resimțită a fost de cauciuc ars sau de gudron, afumată, dar fără nuanțele caustice, specifice acestor ingrediente. Parfumul a mirosit foarte puternic mult timp și mi s-a părut puțin cam prea mult. Cu toate acestea, a fost o experiență mai bună decât cea avută cu Tonnerre de Beaufort London.

Tot atunci, am perceput și alte elemente la fel de prezente:

- o amăreală industrială;

- o dulceață binevenită (nu ca zahărul, nu ca vanilia/vanilina, poate fructată, ca fructele de pădure oarecum) care a potolit asprimea ușoară a parfumului. Totuși Oud a rămas masculin.

- un caracter lemnos (fără „țepi”, de altfel) care părea să vină de la niște lemne tăiate de curând;

- fațete de mucegai și de pământ care au adus textură pe lângă profilul lor olfactiv foarte interesant, potrivite neîndoielnic în această compoziție. Fațeta de mucegai este exact ca cea din Eau d'Iparie de L'Occitane en Provence.

Ca urmare, mi se pare dificil să aplic Oud direct pe haine din cauza acelei note industriale, nenaturale, care stă prea aproape de nasul meu. Așa că pulverizez parfumul în aer, în fața mea și pășesc imediat înainte, în ceața formată. Un rezultat perfect.

În ceea ce privește vremea, doar temperatura foarte scăzută pune în valoare parfumul. Gudronul își diminuează intensitatea și aduce paciuliul în față cu tot cu fațetele de mucegai și de pământ, în timp ce caracterul lemnos câștigă în uscăciune puțin, fiind învăluit într-o dulceață redusă, eliberată de mirosul ce mi s-a părut a fi fructat inițial, înfățișând, acum, un efect de chihlimbar, cald și rotunjit.

Oud este matur 100% și elegant, dar și mai purtabil în această situație. Un da mare din partea mea.
