 The smell of fake smoke with synthetic nuances, but respirable. A sort of charred wood smoke mixed with the odour released by some plastics forgotten in the oven that is just starting to heat up.

Tonnerre is not allowed to become dense by a watery component, without reaching the aquatic or marine realm, which keeps it alive as a matter of fact. It makes me think of liquid smoke. And also of fountain pen ink. One time I even felt the specific odour of watercolours brushed on a paper sheet just like in the middle school art class.

A low-profile sweet note and a sourish one lend a necessary variation to the whole blend.

When I saw the word "blood" mentioned in the olfactory pyramid, I thought of something metallic, yet I feel nothing remotely similar, which is a relief.

The element that I enjoy the most is the astringent facet, a little bit harsh, as that of the tannins experienced while eating a grape seed or a slice of quince. Maybe this is where the woody perception comes from, even thought I would not portray Tonnerre as being woody. And these tannins hold the composition tight, compressed, as if the fragrance sits where you sprayed it without wanting to envelope you.

The scent turns more concentrated and smoky in the drydown, a slight ashiness comes to the surface, while the aqueous component moves in the background.

The projection is not big, a good thing as it will not disturbe the people around you.

Tonnerre has one minus: the slightly artificial nature of the burnt odour, bothersome at times; this should not happen considering the price that the brand asks for a bottle. The culprit molecule should have been toned down a bit. Having said that, it is a daring perfume which smells of niche.

 Miros de fum fals, cu nuanțe sintetice, dar respirabil. Un fel de fum de lemne carbonizate combinat cu mirosul emanat de niște masele plastice uitate în cuptorul ce începe să se încălzească.

Tonnerre nu este lăsat să devină dens de o componentă apoasă, fără să se ducă în zona acvatică sau marină, care-l ține viu de altfel. Îmi vine să zic fum lichid. Dar și miros de cerneală de stilou. Iar o singură dată, am simțit aroma specifică a acuarelei întinse cu pensula, pe hârtie, de la orele de desen din școala generală.

O notă dulceagă și alta acrișoară, ambele modeste, imprimă o variație necesară amestecului parfumat.

Când am văzut cuvântul "sânge" menționat în piramida olfactivă, m-am gândit la ceva metalic, însă nu simt absolut nimic în această direcție; mai bine.

Elementul care îmi place cel mai mult este fațeta astringentă, aspră puțin, ca aceea a taninilor resimțiți când mesteci o sămânță de struguri sau o felie de gutuie. Poate de aici am senzația ușoară de lemnos, chiar dacă nu l-aș defini pe Tonnerre ca fiind așa. Și acești tanini țin compoziția strânsă, comprimată oarecum, ca și cum parfumul stă fix pe tine doar în locul în care te-ai parfumat, fără să te învăluie.

În faza ultimă de evoluție, parfumul devine mai concentrat-afumat, ivindu-se și o notă ușoară de cenușă, iar componenta apoasă se duce mai în fundal.

Proiecția nu este mare, un lucru bun de altfel, căci nu îi va deranja pe cei din jur.

Singurul minus al lui Tonnerre este natura sintetică a mirosului de ars, oarecum deranjantă, lucru care nu ar trebui să existe considerând prețul cerut de brand pe o sticlă. Molecula „vinovată” ar fi trebuit pusă în cantitate ceva mai mică. Cu toate acestea, este un parfum îndrăzneț care miroase a nișă.
